What Moms Can’t Do
By: Morgan

Moms can’t go over the speed limit.
Moms can’t go into space without a spacesuit.
Moms can’t go to school.
My mom can’t buy me an I Pod in a store.
Moms can’t do flips in the yard.
Moms can’t catch bees.
Moms can’t play football.

What Pets Can’t Do
By Blake

Pets can’t talk.
Pets can’t build.
Pets can’t drive.
Pets can’t go to school.
Pets can’t stop loving you.

What I Can’t Do
By:  Jaycee

I can’t play football.
I can’t play tennis.
I can’t do back flips.
I can’t run ten miles.
I can’t swim three miles.
I can’t do funny jokes.
I can’t bake a cake that is tall.
I can’t do times.
I can’t be a good artist. (Ms. Jacobs disagrees with this.)

What Pets Can’t Do
By:  Mandi

Pets can’t stop barking.
Pets can’t stop being cute.
Pets can’t stop going to the restroom in the house.
Pets can’t stop being loved.
Pets can’t stop biting.
Pets can’t stop scratching.
What pets can do is lick you.
Pets can’t stop loving you.
Pets can’t stop jumping on you.

What Pets Can’t Do
By:  Lexi

They can’t stop looking cute!
They can’t stop being super pets!
They can’t stop being there for you!
They can’t stop loving you!
They can’t stop being cool!
They can’t stop waiting for snacks!
They can’t stop loving it when you pet their tummy!
But they can stop lying down.

A day in the life of Dallas

by Dallas

In the morning I get up at 7:00.  I get my stuff ready and leave at 7:30.  My brother goes first, then my sister.  Sometimes my brother walks.  After school I wait in the car line for my mom to pick me up.  The she picks up my brother at Waller.  She gets my sister last then she brings us home.  I take my shoes off then I pop my back, then my fingers and toes.  Then I watch TV or eat something.  Then I relax and sometimes I get on the computer and sometimes when I get home I ride my bike to McKinley.  That school is by my house and there’s a playground in the front and the back.  Whenever it’s 7:30 p.m. I watch Malcolm in the Middle and maybe arfterwards, Cartoon Network.

I was born in Missouri and lived there until I was five and then we moved to Nebraska.  We lived in Omaha and last summer I visited my dad there because my mom and dad got divorced.  He has an apartment and I had to watch PBS Kids for a week, no, two weeks!  My cat had kittens.  All of the kittens were named from Twilight names.  My black cat’s name is Alice.  My gray cat’s name is Emitt.  The orange one is James.  The mom is Bella.  The tan one is Jasper.

Swimming with the dolphins in Honolulu

By Lexi
Last summer I went to Honolulu with my family.  While we were there, we went to Sea Life Park.  We saw a dolphin show.  We got to swim with the dolphins and feed the sea lions.  I got to feed a girl sea lion.  We also saw penguins.  My favorite activity was swimming with the dolphins.

San Antonio: the world's tallest man, the world's biggest water park, and a bridge in a spinning thing -- what's not to like?

by Cade

Two months ago me and my family went to San Antonio, Texas,  for vacation.  We went to Tomb Rider 3D.  It goes underground and you shoot like spiders and cool stuff.  And we went to a River Walk.  We went on a tour on a boat.  And we went to The Guinness Book of World Records. The funnest thing I saw in there was the world’s tallest man.  And we went to Ripley’s Believe it or Not.
Me and my brother, Cooper, think the best part was when we went back in time.  There was a bridge in a spinning thing.  The last thing we did was go to a maze filled with mirrors.  And we went to the biggest water park in the world.

Fun in Florida: the Atlantic and Disney World, with frogs, lizards and mosquitos

by Jaycee
I like it when I went to Florida.  I went to the Atlantic ocean.  I went to see my cousin, Erin.  It was a fun vacation.  We went in the middle of the ocean on a boat.  We went to Disney World.  I swam in her underground pool.  There were a lot of frogs, lizards, and mosquitoes there.  We woke up at 5:45 AM to get on the plane to come home.  It was a fun time.

Looking forward to football

by Roy

I am really excited about football because I am on my brother’s team Last year we were on different teams, but we didn’t have to play each other.

I don’t know who our coach is yet. Last year Dad helped but he cannot this year. I am aggravated because he isn’t. He either doesn’t want to or he is getting too old or he didn’t sign up.

If my games are on the weekend, then Dad and Tamira will both get to come. Dad works away in places like Missouri and Louisiana during the week. I hate him being gone. So on the weekend I am glad to see him.

My football games start in September. I might even have a game on my birthday because my birthday is on September 2nd. I might even play Cade and his brother, Cooper. I might even be on Cade’s team!

Having fun in Branson

by Mandi

Last summer I went to Branson and had a lot of fun. I went to White Water in Branson and went in the Lazy River. My sister and dad went on the Big Swing. My mom and I went to the playground with water guns. People on the other side were shooting water. My favorite part was the slides.

Sea World: A whale as big as this room

by Jaden

Two years ago my family and I lived in San Antonio, TX because Dad was stationed at the Air Force Base there. While we were there one of my favorite things we did was go to Sea World. Sea World is an amusement park with animals that mostly live in water and rides for people. We went one hot evening in the summer and stayed for about 3 hours. We had fun even though it was crowded, One show was the Shamu Show where 2 orca whales did tricks. One of them was almost as big as this room. It lasted about an hour and was Blake’s favorite. We went only one time but I still remember it. I smile when I think of it.
